RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service was called to Gannet Cay (140nm NE off the coast of Rockhampton, to retrieve a 59 year old male suffering from renal colic. The Crew were able to contact the skipper of the charter vessel and have the patient transported to Gannet Cay for an 11am rendezvous.

Due to fuel and landing limitations, both the onboard paramedic and rescue crewman were winched down to the small cay where they worked quickly to assess and prepare the patient for winching and transport back to Rockhampton hospital. The patient was given pain relief and further treatment on board the helicopter whilst on his way back to Rockhampton.
