At approximately 8am a call came in to attend a coal and gas mine in the vicinity of Lake Nuga Nuga. The Santos mine site, located approximately 136 nm South West of Rockhampton, had one of their workers suffering severe chest pain and suspected heart attack. The acute pain had come on suddenly just after the man had woken up for the day. CHR arrived on scene at approximately 9.40am and the man was assessed and stabilised by the QAS Intensive Care Paramedic, who quickly ruled out a heart attack. However, the specific cause of the patients intense chest pain could not be determined.

The man was flown back to Rockhampton and taken to Rockhampton Base Hospital for further tests and treatment.
