Patient Struck In Abdomen


14/1/19 –

RACQ Capricorn Rescue were tasked to a location approximately 230kms south of Rockhampton to retrieve a patient who had been working on a trailer when a large piece of steel struck them in their abdomen causing significant internal injuries.



Upon arrival to the scene, the patient was treated by the on board medical crew and suspected to be suffering broken ribs and internal bleeding. The Critical Care Paramedic and Doctor treated the patient for their injuries before airlifting them to the Rockhampton Base Hospital in a serious but stable condition for immediate medical treatment. The patient has since been transferred to a Brisbane Hospital for further treatment.
