Fallen Bushwalker

9/9/18 – Shortly after midday, CapRescue was tasked to Rainbow Falls for an injured bushwalker that had slipped and fallen on wet rocks, causing possible spinal injuries.

Due to the limited accessibility of the location, the crew elected to perform a stretcher winch to access the patient. Our on board Queensland Ambulance Service Flight Paramedic and Rescue Crewman were winched to the patient to provide initial medical assistance.

The patient was stabilised on scene and winched to safety before being flown to Rockhampton in a stable condition for further treatment.
