Colour Me Capricorn Rockhampton – A Colourful Success!

Once again, Colour Me Capricorn Rockhampton proved to be a colourful success with over 760 participants creating clouds of colour in the Rockhampton Kershaw Gardens on Sunday March 28, 2021. The run featured a 2.5km and 5km distance option for those looking for a colourful Sunday stroll or friendly fun run.

Participants ran, walked, danced or strolled their way along the garden paths, creating a vibrant atmosphere, raising almost $20,000 for RACQ Capricorn Rescue!

“It was great to see so many families coming out early on their Sunday morning to participate in a colourful and fun event, which raised much needed funds for the Service,” PR & Community Co-ordinator for RACQ Capricorn Rescue, Kirsty Wooler, says. “As always, the event wasn’t about breaking personal bests but having fun, getting colourful and getting out and about in the community.”

Volunteer contribution was outstanding at Colour Me Capricorn Rockhampton 2021, with 22 StepUp CapRescue Volunteers, and over 10 volunteers from the CQU Health Clinic providing free sports massages to participants.

Over 40% of RACQ Capricorn Rescue’s funding is contributed by the community through sponsorships, donations, and community events. Our fundraising events are an integral part in continuing our lifesaving work within Central Queensland and we are grateful for the fantastic support we received for Colour Me Capricorn Rockhampton from community members and our sponsors.

Colour Me Capricorn Rockhampton was proudly supported by Rockhampton Regional Council, Stanwell Power Station, Blackwoods and Stockland Rockhampton. Without this level of corporate support, we would not be able to hold such a successful event. A special thanks also to Anthea from Hype Performance and Health, CQU Health Clinic, and Flexihire Rockhampton for their additional support on the day.
