Give a little. Change a lot.

Give a little. Change a lot. Volunteering is a vital aspect to any organisation and this National Volunteer Week, RACQ CapRescue is encouraging the Central Queensland community to join in on the fun of volunteering! With the launch of their new Volunteering Program, Step Up proudly supported by Thiess, the Capricorn Helicopter Rescue is encouraging everyone to show their support for the vital community service by donating their time as a volunteer.

Over 6 million Australian’s volunteer their time to charitable services such as CapRescue, where they are given the opportunity to create real change in someone’s life. As one of our many valued volunteers, Sue Neaton, experienced when she came on board with us and was asked what she enjoyed most about volunteering at CapRescue, “the sense of fulfilment I get when I know I have helped make a difference and inadvertently helped someone I will never meet”.

NAB Rockhampton has recently stepped up as Corporate Volunteers and recognises the importance of volunteering within our region. Cindy Brittain, a NAB employee, has only been volunteering with the service for a short time but appreciates the opportunity she’s been given to make a difference within our community.  Cindy believes the Corporate Volunteering Program within Step Up is a great way for businesses, big or small to contribute to a valued community organisation.

Australian Women’s Cricket superstar, Jessica Jonassen, has also stepped up and not only become a volunteer at CapRescue but also a celebrity ambassador for the Step Up program. Jessica made her first appearance as a CapRescue volunteer at Colour Me Capricorn and enjoyed every moment of it!

Our vision for the Step Up CapRescue Volunteer Program, supported by Thiess, is to create stronger connected communities, through the engagement of volunteers in the regions that we service. We have a great team of volunteers who would love you to join them.

National Volunteers Week may only be celebrated from May 21st to 27th, however the Capricorn Helicopter Rescue team encourages volunteering support all year round. For those looking for further information they are encouraged to click here.
