Marine Attack

17/3/19 –¬†Early this afternoon RACQ Capricorn Rescue tasked to Great Keppel Island for a male patient that had been stabbed by a poisonous Stingray barb whilst walking in shallow water. The patient had been walking in the shallow water with his young son when he accidentally came in contact with the Stingray and received the injury.

 

The patient was treated and stabilised on scene by the on board Queensland Ambulance Service Flight Paramedic for symptoms associated with the sting, before being airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital for further treatment.
