Broken ankle on Mt Larcom
30th JANUARY 2011 – RESCUE AT MT LARCOM: A 33 year old female hiker and her family were hiking up Mt Larcom, when the woman slipped and suffered a suspected broken ankle. Due to the terrain and the difficulty accessing the area from the ground, a QAS Intensive Care Paramedic was hoisted down to assess the injured woman.
High wind conditions at the time also made the task more challenging. However, the woman was successfully hoisted on board and flown to Rockhampton for further treatment.« Return to “Broken ankle on Mt Larcom”
