Rainbow Falls Winch

13/05/19 – At last light RACQ Capricorn Rescue departed Rockhampton to airlift a patient out of Rainbow Falls after he sustained an injury to his right leg. Due to the patient’s injuries and geographical location, a rescue winch was conducted.

Prior to the winch recovery the patient was stabilised on scene by our on-board Queensland Ambulance Service Critical Care Paramedic and Rescue Crewman. After the initial medical assessment was performed the crew utilised night vision goggles to conduct the successful rescue. The patient was safely winched into the helicopter and transported to Rockhampton Base Hospital for further treatment.
