Weekend Wrap Up

7/09/20 – | SATURDAY |
After being tasked by Queensland Health on Saturday morning, #RACQ #CapRescue swung into action to assist an elderly man who had fallen down the stairs. Aged in his 70s, the man suffered suspected multiple upper body and head injuries at a property in the Mount Larcom area. Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics initially caring for the patient met the Rescue300 crew when they arrived on scene.
The helicopter’s on-board Doctor and Critical Care Paramedic further assessed and stabilised the patient for air transport to Rockhampton Hospital for further treatment.
Sunday morning, #RACQ #CapRescue was tasked to one of the many mountain bike trails of Mt Archer to attend a male patient in his 40s who had fallen from his mountain bike suffering suspected spinal injuries.
The #RACQ #CapRescue winched the Rescue Crewman and Critical Care Paramedic into the dense bushland and were met by Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services – QFES who assisted the flight crew in assessing and stabilising the patient. Once stabilised the patient and flight crew were safely winched out of the site and flown to the Rockhampton Base Hospital for further scans and treatment. The patient was stable throughout the flight.
Shortly after returning to base, Rescue300 was tasked to retrieve an elderly patient from Emerald Hospital who required urgent, more advanced care in Rockhampton. The patient was stabilised prior to the flight and remained in a stable condition for the duration of the flight.
