Just before 8am Saturday, #RACQ#CapRescue was tasked by Queensland Health to a beach north of Tannum Sands to provide medical assistance to three occupants of a vehicle that was travelling along the beach, lost control and rolled numerous times.
#Rescue300 landed on the beach next to the accident scene where Queensland Police Service and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) were already in attendance.
A female patient was treated for minor injuries on scene then transported to Gladstone Hospital via road ambulance, while the male driver in his late teens was treated on scene for more serious injuries before being airlifted to the Rockhampton Hospital in a serious but stable condition. The third occupant, a young male was very lucky to escape without injury.
Shortly after returning, the #RACQ#CapRescue crew performed water operations training at Wreck Point in Yeppoon, where members of the public had to opportunity to witness our #Rescue300 crew train for the very real scenarios they are often faced with.
